A few things to know before you book.

These terms explain what happens when you book a Fisheye Journeys trip, including payments, cancellations, travel insurance, itinerary changes, and traveler responsibilities. Please read them carefully before reserving your spot.

Definition

For purposes of these Booking Terms & Conditions, “Fisheye Journeys” refers to Fisheye Journeys Travel Company and its owners, agents, directors, officers, employees, representatives, and affiliates.

By booking a trip with Fisheye Journeys, you agree to these Booking Terms & Conditions, which constitute the agreement between you and Fisheye Journeys.

BOOKING YOUR TRIP

Reserving your spot.

Booking Confirmation & Payment

Fisheye Journeys accepts payment by credit card unless otherwise specified.

Your reservation is confirmed once we receive and acknowledge the payment required at the time of booking. After final payment is received, we'll send your welcome packet and additional details for your upcoming trip.

Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of $600 USD per person, per trip is required at the time of booking.

If you book within 45 days of departure, the full trip price is due at the time of booking.

Final Payment

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 45 days before departure.

If the remaining balance is not received by the due date, your reservation may be canceled and your deposit forfeited.

Payment Plan

A two-payment plan is available at no additional fee. After your initial deposit, the remaining trip balance may be divided into two payments, with the final balance due no later than 45 days before departure.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is required for all travelers. Your policy must cover personal accidents, death, medical expenses, and emergency repatriation. We recommend minimum coverage of $100,000 USD for personal injury and $200,000 USD for repatriation and evacuation expenses.

A note on timing: we strongly recommend purchasing your policy within 10 days of paying your deposit. Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) coverage is the only type of coverage that allows you to cancel for reasons outside standard covered events. It is a time-sensitive add-on that most providers offer only within 10–21 days of your initial trip deposit. If you wait beyond that window, you may permanently lose the option to add it.

Proof of travel insurance must be provided no later than 45 days before departure. Failure to provide proof of insurance may result in cancellation of your booking in accordance with our cancellation policy.

Cancellation by the Traveler

Cancellations must be made in writing and acknowledged by Fisheye Journeys in writing. The cancellation terms that apply are based on the date we receive your written request.

If you cancel 45 days or more before departure, your deposit and any expenses already incurred by the ground operator will be retained. Any payments made beyond those amounts will be refunded.

If you cancel 44 days or less before departure, 100% of the total booking cost, including your deposit, will be retained by Fisheye Journeys.

Booking Transfers

If you are unable to travel, you may transfer your booking to another person at no charge from Fisheye Journeys.

Transfer requests must be made in writing as early as possible before departure. The replacement traveler must agree to these Booking Terms & Conditions, meet all eligibility and documentation requirements, provide all required personal information, and provide proof of required travel insurance before departure.

Any costs charged by third parties to change the name on a reservation, such as permits, entry tickets, or internal flights booked in the original traveler's name, are the responsibility of the travelers. Transfers requested close to departure will be accommodated where feasible.

Chargebacks

By booking a trip with Fisheye Journeys, you agree to the payment and cancellation terms set forth in these Booking Terms & Conditions.

If you have a question or dispute regarding a charge, refund, cancellation, or other payment matter, please contact Fisheye Journeys promptly so that we have an opportunity to review and address the issue.

You agree not to initiate a chargeback or payment dispute solely for the purpose of avoiding or circumventing the cancellation, refund, or other payment terms you agreed to at the time of booking.

Nothing in these Booking Terms & Conditions is intended to limit any rights you may have under applicable law or the rules of your card issuer or payment provider to dispute an unauthorized, fraudulent, or otherwise legitimately disputed charge.

If a chargeback or payment dispute is initiated in connection with a valid charge that is subject to these Booking Terms & Conditions, Fisheye Journeys reserves the right to provide the card issuer or payment provider with documentation relating to your booking, including these Booking Terms & Conditions, payment records, communications, cancellation records, and other information relevant to the dispute.

If a chargeback is resolved in favor of Fisheye Journeys, any amount properly due under these Booking Terms & Conditions will remain due.

Cancellation by Fisheye Journeys

Group trips may require a minimum number of travelers to operate. Any trip-specific minimum enrollment requirements will be communicated when applicable. If minimum enrollment is not met, Fisheye Journeys may cancel or reschedule the trip. In that case, we will offer either a full refund of all payments made or a credit toward a future Fisheye Journeys trip.

If Fisheye Journeys determines that a scheduled trip must be canceled after receiving your payment, we will either refund the payment or apply it toward a future Fisheye Journeys trip. This provision does not apply to Custom Travel itineraries.

Fisheye Journeys is not responsible for incidental expenses you incur as a result of your booking, including visa costs, vaccinations, travel insurance, or non-refundable flights.

Force Majeure

If a trip is canceled because of a force majeure event, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, civil unrest, government intervention, war, or another event that prevents the trip from being fulfilled, 100% of the amount you have paid will be converted into a non-expiring credit for a future Fisheye Journeys group trip.

This credit cannot be applied to private travel arrangements.

Depending on your policy, Cancel for Any Reason travel insurance may provide coverage for payments made to Fisheye Journeys in circumstances that are not otherwise covered.

Trip & Itinerary Changes

Trip prices may vary based on seasonal rates, and Fisheye Journeys may adjust pricing for new bookings at any time.

Once your deposit has been received, your trip price is locked and will not increase unless you request a change or choose an optional addition.

If significant changes to the itinerary become necessary, Fisheye Journeys will communicate those changes to you.

Inclusions

The land price of your trip includes:

• All accommodation listed in your itinerary

• All transportation listed in your itinerary

• Sightseeing and activities listed in your itinerary

• Meals listed in your itinerary

If you separate from the group and miss an included meal, activity, or transportation for any reason, the unused portion will not be refunded or credited.

Exclusions

Unless otherwise specified in your itinerary, the land price does not include:

• International or internal flights

• Taxes or excess baggage fees

• Meals not listed in your itinerary

• Passport and visa fees

• Travel insurance

• Optional activities

• Personal expenses

Room Sharing & Solo Travelers

Trip pricing is based on shared (double) occupancy, meaning you and one other traveler share a room, unless otherwise noted on the trip page. Room and bed configurations vary by trip and accommodation.

Solo travelers who do not book with a roommate will generally be paired with another solo traveler of the same gender, unless otherwise stated on the trip page.

In some cases, a private room option may be available on request. Please inquire before booking your trip.

Discounts & Promotions

Discounts and reduced pricing are offered at the discretion of Fisheye Journeys and apply to new bookings only.

Once you have paid your deposit, your booking remains at the price agreed upon at the time of booking. Discounts or reduced pricing offered afterward cannot be applied retroactively to an existing reservation.

Optional Activities

During a Fisheye Journeys trip, you may have opportunities to participate in optional activities or local events that are not included in your trip package.

These activities are operated independently. Fisheye Journeys does not make representations regarding their safety, quality, or the standards of the independent operator.

If your group leader or local representative assists you in arranging an optional activity, that assistance does not make Fisheye Journeys responsible for the activity. Any contract for an optional activity is between you and the activity provider.

Your Information

To confirm your travel arrangements, you must provide all requested information, including your legal name, date of birth, passport number, and passport issue and expiration dates.

We may be unable to finalize certain travel arrangements until all required traveler information has been received.

Age Requirements

Travelers must be at least 18 years old unless accompanied by a legal guardian or an adult escort appointed by their legal guardian.

The legal guardian or designated escort is responsible for the day-to-day care of any traveler under 18. If a guardian appoints another adult as the traveler's escort, the guardian must complete any documentation required to delegate that authority.

Health, Fitness & Medical Disclosure

You are responsible for obtaining appropriate medical advice regarding the health requirements and recommendations for your destination. We recommend doing so at least two months before departure.

You are also responsible for ensuring that any required or recommended vaccinations, medications, or other health precautions are obtained and followed as advised by your healthcare provider or travel clinic.

You are responsible for determining, in consultation with your healthcare provider when appropriate, whether you are medically and physically able to participate in the trip and its activities.

At the time of booking, you must disclose any medical condition, physical limitation, accessibility need, or other circumstance that may affect your ability to participate safely in the trip or that may require accommodation or assistance.

Based on the information you provide, Fisheye Journeys may determine whether we can reasonably accommodate your needs and whether your participation would create a safety or operational concern for you, other travelers, our trip leaders, local partners, or the operation of the trip. Fisheye Journeys does not provide medical advice or determine your medical fitness to travel.

If you choose to travel after being advised by your healthcare provider that a trip or activity may not be appropriate for you, or if you are unable to participate in an included activity due to a medical condition, physical limitation, or other circumstance, the unused portion of the trip will not be refunded or credited.

Passports & Visas

Passports are required for travel to most destinations. You are responsible for checking current entry and visa requirements with the appropriate consulate or embassy.

Your passport must meet the validity requirements of your destination and any countries through which you transit. Some destinations require passports to remain valid for six months beyond the dates of travel.

You are responsible for obtaining the correct passports, visas, permits, and certificates required for your trip. Fisheye Journeys is not responsible if you are denied entry because you do not have the required travel documentation.

Travel Advisories & Warnings

The safety of our travelers, trip leaders, and local operators is a priority. Fisheye Journeys monitors conditions in the destinations we visit and makes operational decisions using information from multiple sources.

You are also responsible for staying informed about conditions and travel advisories for the destinations you will visit, including advisories issued by the U.S. Department of State. Visit travel.state.gov or call 1-888-407-4747.

You are responsible for protecting your own well-being and personal property before, during, and after your trip.

Transportation

You are expected to wear a seat belt whenever one is available while traveling in a moving vehicle. Seat belts may not be available on every form of chartered or public transportation used during a trip.

Public transportation may occasionally be crowded, and there may be circumstances in which seating is unavailable for a short period.

Fisheye Journeys relies on public transportation providers to maintain their vehicles and does not independently inspect or test public vehicles. If, in the group leader's judgment, transportation is unsafe, alternative arrangements will be made.

Acceptance of Risk & Waiver

Travel involves inherent risks, and the nature and level of those risks may vary depending on the destination, itinerary, transportation, activities, local conditions, and other circumstances.

By booking and participating in a Fisheye Journeys trip, you acknowledge that travel may involve risks including, but not limited to, illness, injury, death, theft or loss of property, unfamiliar or remote environments, uneven terrain, weather conditions, natural disasters, wildlife, foodborne illness, transportation delays or accidents, limited access to medical care, political or civil unrest, criminal activity, and risks associated with activities included in or undertaken during the trip.

You are responsible for reviewing the itinerary and trip information provided to you and for choosing a trip and participating in activities that are appropriate for your physical abilities, experience, comfort level, and personal circumstances.

You knowingly and voluntarily accept and assume the inherent and reasonably foreseeable risks associated with participating in the trip, including risks arising from circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Fisheye Journeys.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release and hold harmless Fisheye Journeys and its owners, officers, directors, employees, representatives, agents, contractors, and affiliates from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from the inherent risks of travel, the acts or omissions of independent third-party suppliers, or circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Fisheye Journeys, except to the extent that such a release is prohibited by applicable law.

Nothing in this provision is intended to waive or limit any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived or limited.

Personal Responsibility

Fisheye Journeys reserves the right to decline or remove a traveler from a trip for justifiable cause, including illegal activity or behavior that poses a risk to others.

Any costs associated with being removed from the trip are the traveler's responsibility.

Liability & Independent Suppliers

Fisheye Journeys works with independent third-party suppliers to provide certain components of our trips, including accommodations, transportation, local ground operators, guides, restaurants, activity providers, and other travel services. These suppliers are independent businesses and are not owned, operated, managed, or controlled by Fisheye Journeys.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Fisheye Journeys is not responsible for the acts or omissions of independent third-party suppliers or for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, delay, inconvenience, or additional expense arising from their acts or omissions.

Travel may also be affected by circumstances outside the reasonable control of Fisheye Journeys, including weather, natural disasters, acts of government, war, civil unrest, strikes or other labor disruptions, criminal or terrorist activity, transportation delays or failures, changes or deficiencies in accommodations, public health events, sanitation conditions, foodborne illness, wildlife, limited availability or quality of medical care, and difficulties with emergency evacuation.

Fisheye Journeys will make reasonable efforts to address disruptions that arise during a trip when circumstances permit, but cannot guarantee the performance, safety, or availability of services provided by independent third parties or prevent circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Nothing in this provision is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Claims & Complaints

If you experience a problem during your trip, please notify your group leader or local representative immediately so they have an opportunity to address it.

If the issue is not resolved, any further complaint must be submitted to Fisheye Journeys in writing within 30 days after the end of your trip, together with supporting documentation.

Media Release

During Fisheye Journeys trips and events, Fisheye Journeys and its representatives may photograph, film, or otherwise record travelers and trip activities.

By participating in a Fisheye Journeys trip, you grant Fisheye Journeys permission to use photographs, video recordings, and other media in which you appear for legitimate business and promotional purposes, including on our website, social media channels, email communications, advertisements, and other marketing materials, without additional approval or compensation.

Fisheye Journeys may edit, crop, reproduce, publish, and distribute these materials in connection with those purposes, provided that the materials are not used in a manner that is defamatory, misleading, or otherwise unlawful.

If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded for promotional use, please notify Fisheye Journeys in writing before departure. We will make reasonable efforts to honor your request. Because our trips take place in group and public settings, we cannot guarantee that you will not appear incidentally in photographs or recordings captured during the trip.

This release applies only to photographs, video, and other recordings captured by or on behalf of Fisheye Journeys. Photographs and recordings taken independently by other travelers are addressed separately under Photography Among Travelers.

Photography Among Travelers

Fisheye Journeys trips are photography-forward by design. Please be aware that fellow travelers may photograph or record group activities and shared moments, and you may appear in their personal photos and videos.

Fisheye Journeys is not responsible for photographs or recordings captured or shared by other travelers.

Privacy Policy

Your personal information may be used as necessary to administer and operate your trip and may be shared with service providers when necessary to provide your travel arrangements.

Any use of your information for marketing purposes will be handled in accordance with the Fisheye Journeys Privacy Policy.

Governing Law & Venue

These Booking Terms & Conditions and any dispute arising out of or relating to your booking, participation in a Fisheye Journeys trip, or relationship with Fisheye Journeys will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Booking Terms & Conditions or your participation in a Fisheye Journeys trip must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dallas, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.

Severability

If any provision of these Booking Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Binding Agreement

By completing your booking and making payment, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to these Booking Terms & Conditions, including the cancellation policies contained within them.

This agreement is legally binding.

Updates to These Terms

Fisheye Journeys may update or modify these Booking Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The version of these Booking Terms & Conditions in effect at the time of your booking governs your booking. The current version can always be found on the Fisheye Journeys website.
