Scuba dive in Cuba on New Year’s Eve with Patricia Santos of Cheap-ish travels

I take my love for photo, adventure, and underwater with me wherever I go, and I’m so excited to share with everyone going on this trip my favorite thing to do in the world (scuba dive)!

I'm a mermaid at heart - avoiding the harsh winters I grew up in and always seeking the beach, both above and below water. I lived in Australia for a year where I started scuba diving, and then spent 6 months in Indonesia "working" at dive shops in some of the best places in the country!

If I'm not in the water or on the beach, you can probably find me eating somewhere, as I'm a true foodie at heart. I've been traveling full-time for the past year and a half straight and hope to never stop, there's so much to see and so much to learn! Follow along my journeys at

Scuba Diving in Cuba

Bring in the new year scuba diving with us in Cuba and then explore the charming city of Havana!

Scuba dive in the calm, turquoise and blue waters of Cuba’s Bay of Pigs. The average visibility in the water is 98-131 feet (30-40m), which it makes it possible to spot underwater life easily. Access a spectacular drop-off straight from the shore that houses all kinds of tropical fish, and over 17 species of coral plants.

You do NOT have to be certified to join us on this trip and you do NOT need prior experience with scuba diving. If needed, we will provide you with an introductory course that goes over the basic safety guidelines and you’ll practice techniques in shallow water to prepare you for an adventure. Both novice and experienced divers are welcome. For novice divers, there are beautiful shallow reef dives and for more experienced divers, explore caves, caverns, and tunnels.

Please note that dives are shore-dives as a boat is not needed to access these dives. The only boats for tourists in Cuba are liveaboards that are docked at the shore and function more like a floating hotel.
